Pelosi: Dems bear no responsibility for economic crisis

This is not a test of the Emergency Political Joke System.  Despite their anti-energy, anti-credit restriction policies that have driven this country to brink of financial disaster, Nancy Pelosi stated that none of the fault went to the Democrats.  That’s NONE. 

She said Republicans are blaming this on over-regulation despite the widespread reports yesterday that Democrats blocked a Republican attempt to better control Fannie Mae and Freddie Mac.  Why did they block it?  Because they have this never-ending desire to pander with populist policies, which in this case included opening up mortgage credit requirements so the ‘everyone’ could afford a home.

Problem is, even if you make companies have zero credit requirements, that doesn’t make any new people able to afford a home.  Being able to afford a home is a separate issue from credit requirements.
